Kannawidan: YLocos Festival


        The province of Ilocos is known for its beautiful and colorful festival, for the nice and wonderful traditions and the meaningful culture. One of the most awaited festivals is the Kannawidan: Ilocos Festival. It is celebrated in the month of February. In this Kannawidan Festival we can encounter games and shows. Last February, 2012. The government made contests about cooking, parlor games, pageant etc. There were also food chains in every side of the road in the Centro.
     “Through this “Kannawidan Ylocos Festival, we are preserving and sustaining our old traditions, attractive products and practices as we are also promoting our tourism industry,” Vice Governor DV Savellano said.
     The 2012 Kannawidan Ylocos Festival opened with a concelebrated mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a procession of the patron saints of the 40 parishes including the images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the province’s capital city
     I can’t deny that Kannawidan: Ylocos Festival is great and amazing.  Come on and visit and explore what is the mystery about Kannawidan.
